The ‘Integrated Centralized Billing System (ICBS)’ software has been successfully implemented in Rajshahi Palli Bidyut Samity and Jashore Palli Bidyut Samity-1. This software facilitates the management of all consumer services, billing, collection, and accounting activities.
Currently, the offices of the PBS’s are receiving all sorts of complaints/application for services from more than 8.5 lakh consumers. Consumers/applicants are applying online for new electricity connections, paying monthly electricity bills, demand note bills, and other types of bills through 20 banks, 03 bank booths, 6 agent banks, 05 mobile financial systems (agent, app & USSD), and the PBS office cash counters. In the near future, more banks and financial systems will be involved in this program.
The BREB implementation team and Team TechnoVista have implemented the software by giving all kinds of training and operational support to all types of users of 05 PBS offices of Rajshahi Palli Bidyut Samity and 11 PBS offices of Jashore Palli Bidyut Samity-1.
In the last 10 months (from November 2022 to August 2023), the ICBS software has facilitated the collection of over BDT 550 crore across the two PBS’s through various banks, e-payment channels, and PBS cash counters. Over this period, meter reading entry, electricity bill generation, bill printing, aging, and accounting activities have been efficiently carried out by over 600 PBS users. Moreover, the ICBS has successfully facilitated the resolution of over 16 thousand new electricity connections and addressed more than 33 thousand consumer complaints/services and many more.
This system has been deployed in the BREB central data center using full hardware capacity. Currently more than six hundred (600) users are using the system from 16 PBS offices under 02 PBS’s through VPN channels. Implementation activities of other 580+ PBS offices under 78 PBS’s is ongoing.
