International Centre for Climate Change and Development signed a contract for Improvements to the AIMS to capture climate finance data

The Climate Finance Transparency Mechanism (CFTM) aims to improve the capture of information on climate finance through the use of the Aid Information Management System (AIMS). It is supported by a coalition of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), and the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) based at BRAC University.

Since the launch in October 2014, Bangladesh’s home-grown AIMS (aims.erd.gov.bd) has captured information on aid activities in the country. The Economic Relations Division (ERD) of the Ministry of Finance initiated and hosted the AIMS which was developed by TechnoVista Limited, with the support of UNDP. Improvements to the system in late 2015 and early 2016 allowed the AIMS to capture information published through IATI, the International Aid Transparency Initiative (aidtransparency.net).
